When performed by a qualified, AHPRA-registered practitioner using single-use sterile needles, acupuncture is widely considered safe. Your practitioner will discuss your health and any considerations before starting.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel little more than a light sensation. The needles are very fine, and many people find the sessions relaxing.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. Because our practitioners work alongside your GP, your overall care can be well coordinated.
